Presented in the ground-floor gallery at 144 Vanderbilt in Brooklyn during the 2026 edition of NYCxDESIGN, we curated Nothing Comes From Nothing to reflect on the enduring nature of creative influence through a cross-generational spectrum of design. Placing historic works by Alvar Aalto, Andrea Branzi/Archizoom, Verner Panton, and others in dialogue with pieces by contemporary makers, the exhibition framed design as a continuum—and explored the notion that every outcome requires an input, be it a raw material or the germ of an idea.
