Studio
Office of Tangible Space is an interdisciplinary design studio grounded in a feeling-first, human-centric ethos. Founded by Michael Yarinsky and Kelley Perumbeti in 2018, the studio works across architecture, interiors, furniture, and curation, with projects ranging from intimate objects and residences to shared cultural and hospitality spaces.
Rooted in a belief that design is an ecosystem of interconnected parts, Office of Tangible Space resists fixed styles or singular methodologies. Each project is approached as a responsive system-–shaped by context, community, and use-allowing the studio to work fluidly across scales and disciplines. Through material-forward design, considered detail, and a rigorous yet experimental approach, the work invites curiosity, warmth, play, and connection, fostering a personal relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit.
The studio is driven by a commitment to designing for impact. Office of Tangible Space seeks projects where space can tell a story, bring people together, and create meaningful encounters - working with clients and partners whose work contributes positively to culture and society. The goal is not only to design spaces to occupy, but environments that encourage pause, participation, and shared experience.
Beyond its built work, Office of Tangible Space actively contributes to the broader design culture and community.Through initiatives such as Works In Progress and The Futurist Cookbook, the studio supports ongoing experimentation, collaboration, and creative exchange–both within the studio and across the wider design community.

Design as Ecosystem
Staying connected to community and culture to maintain a constant flow of ideas, information and people into our working sphere and back out. We consider how people, ideas, materials, and context interact, allowing each project to develop its own logic rather than applying a predetermined approach.
Feeling Driven
The essence of a place or brand is communicated through spatial feel. Material choices, textures, forms and their unique expression invite people to engage with their surroundings, feel at ease, and develop a relationship to it.
Interdisciplinary
Ideas move freely across architecture, interiors, furniture, exhibitions, research, and making. Working across disciplines allows each project to develop from multiple perspectives and uncover solutions that wouldn't emerge from a single lens.

Michael Yarinsky
Michael approaches design as a means of creating connection—between people, materials, and the environments they inhabit. Trained in Architecture at Pratt Institute, his work is guided by curiosity, warmth, and a deep respect for how spaces make us feel. Prior to co-founding Office of Tangible Space, he worked at Specht Architects and Janson Goldstein on residential, retail, and commercial projects around the world. Beyond the practice, Michael founded Cooler Gallery, co-founded Design Advocates, and is a Fellow of the Urban Design Forum. He is currently developing “A New Futurist Cookbook” with artist Allan Wexler, exploring design, ritual, and the shared experience of making. Across these initiatives, Michael continues to foster collaboration, creativity, and a tangible sense of connection—both within the field of design and beyond it.
Kelley Perumbeti
Kelley is interested in how spaces and objects shape the way people gather, live and relate to one another. Her work is grounded in curiosity and research, looking to people and place, material and program, to be the seeds for each project.
She received a Masters in interior design from Parsons School of Design, where her studies focused on expanding the role of the interior within community and public life. This interest continues through her work across interiors, exhibitions and cultural projects. In addition to cofounding Office of Tangible Space, she cofounded Works In Progress, a Bay Area exhibition series that creates a platform to celebrate and create dialogue around furniture, craft and design. Previously, she co-organized People in Places, a seminar series exploring the relationship between people and the built environment.
Across all of her work, Kelley is interested in design as a way to create exchange, invite participation and give form to shared experience.
