Curated by Sight Unseen, this exhibition at New York City’s Matter gallery brought together furniture, lighting, and objects from nine Norwegian designers. Our studio led the spatial design, creating a multi-level exhibition system that allowed visitors to experience the work through different vantage points and display styles. Conceived as a collage of colorful, lightweight platforms, the concept balanced its own expression with respect for the items shown, as well as the show’s efficiency and installation needs. Planchettes were positioned on the floor as well as “floating” on vertical dowels. The gallery became a transportive environment that supported the spirit of the curation.
