Calico Wallpaper Studio + Showroom

Office of Tangible Space conceived Calico Wallpaper’s Hudson Valley Studio as a multifunctional space to support art creation, product presentations, and events, as well as a place to host collaborators. The historic building and its rustic setting provided a site to bridge old and new worlds. This can be felt especially in a workroom with a gestural Calico wallcovering designed by Faye Toogood: There, we created a long custom table anchored beneath a swooping Muller Van Severen light fixture, set against a spare, traditional hearth, with Shaker chairs surrounding. Each room in this project took on its own character, defined through Calico’s wallpaper and an eclectic mix of contemporary and vintage furnishings. Bedrooms include antique quilts and new wood furniture from local maker Sawkille, uniting the environment through a reverence for craft.
