Car Part Time

A club-like gathering place for culture, music, and community, Car Part Time welcomes a variety of uses: coworking, exhibitions, listening sessions, and private events, in addition to displaying a rotating fleet of for-sale rare and unusual vehicles. Overseeing its interiors, we balanced softness with industrial edge, layering in details inspired by ’60s and ’70s cars and the classic Porsche paint palette. Bathroom hardware recalls the dashboards of vintage racecars, and a custom coffee table brings in an automotive grille motif. We composed several discrete areas within the open plan, providing places for visitors to lounge, mingle, or perch with a laptop. Throwback lighting and custom, tactile furnishings integrate throughout, while walnut millwork anchors the room with a vinyl listening and retail station, supporting Car Part Time’s multifaceted programming.
