Craftsmanship is at the center of the New York–based footwear brand Coclico, with products that are conscious of their materials, sourcing, and fabrication. This flagship store interprets that philosophy spatially using a restrained palette of wood, plaster, and stone. Like the shoes themselves, design elements are subtle and considered. Muted tones accent the predominantly white and off-white minimalist space. Texture and dimension come through in the interplay of light against architectural and display features. An inset wall niche holds floating shelves, and the fluted wood surrounds custom stone-topped shoe pedestals. Restrained but warm, the boutique treats footwear like sculpture, inviting shoppers to slow down and appreciate the finer details while being guided through a rhythm of product zones.
